A little bit about me…
I am a landscape artist based in Leeds, in my work I try to capture the beauty and raw energy of nature through a modern, dynamic lens. The passion for landscape painting began five years ago, since then I wanted to hone in on a distinctive style that blends traditional techniques with contemporary influences. Through bold colours, dramatic compositions, and expressive brushwork, I want to breathe new life into the landscape genre, reimagining the natural world with a fresh, innovative perspective.
Living and working in Leeds, I have drawn inspiration from the changing landscapes of the Yorkshire countryside, the industrial textures of the city, and the shifting atmosphere of the seasons. In my work I like to experiment and will often play with light, shadow, and abstraction to evoke a sense of movement and emotion within the landscape. Mixing and blending realism with elements of the surreal. With each piece, I want to evolve and seek to create immersive environments that invite viewers to experience nature’s power and fragility in a new way.
I’ve had the privilege of showcasing my work at a variety of venues, each offering a unique platform to connect with diverse audiences. My exhibition experience includes participating in the Air Place Exhibition and the Coles Gallery, as well as contributing to local events like the Kirkstall Art Trail and Open Gallery Halifax. I’ve also had the opportunity to display my art at renowned locations such as Frontier Sheffield and North Art Leeds, and more prestigious venues like the Royal Society of British Artists in London. Other highlights include exhibiting at the Shat Gallery in Skelmanthorpe and Art at Central Square Exhibition. In addition to these gallery exhibitions, I also actively engage with the community through market stalls at AHAF in Kirkgate Markets, Leeds, and the Little Fox Craft Fair at Leeds Corn Exchange. These experiences have not only allowed me to showcase my art but also to foster connections with a wide range of art enthusiasts and collectors.
