Hi there! I’m James lee, and my creative journey has taken me through a few unexpected but exciting twists and turns.

I moved to Leeds 11 years ago to pursue my passion for music production, which led me to complete a Masters in Music to Moving Image. For years, music was my heartbeat—until lockdown hit. Like so many, I found my world turned upside down, and with the band I had been playing with unable to practice or gig, music became a struggle rather than a joy.

But in the midst of that uncertainty, I discovered something completely unexpected: painting. What started as an outlet for my emotions during those isolating times soon became a love that I hadn’t known I had. Fast forward five years, and I’ve exhibited my work in London and several northern cities, with my calendar now filled with market stalls, painting sessions, and new opportunities. It’s been a whirlwind, but through it all, I’ve found that painting is where my heart truly belongs.

Each new canvas brings a new adventure, and I’m so grateful to have found this path. I feel like I’ve finally found something I not only enjoy, but love.
